Who should attend
For all those individuals who are highly talented, creative and able but feel that they are stuck or going nowhere.
Traditional success literature teaches you the "how-to" approach.
The aim of traditional success literature is to teach you how to do whatever it is you want to do. It teaches you the necessary techniques behind "how to" do something. Everything from how to be a good cook to, losing weight to becoming a better manager.
Three possibilities for success literature;
1. One is that success literature is irrelevant to success. This may not be true because many people including me have benefited tremendously from this type of material.
2.
The next possibility is that people do not conscientiously use the success literature material. If they only tried harder and spent more time at it, they would be so much more successful. This is the "Work hard enough and you will succeed" school of thought. The world is filled with people who work very hard but go no where.
3.
The last possibility is that traditional success literature may be the wrong place to look for the secrets of true success. That all the dedication, knowledge and hard work will not help you succeed if something is missing.
Having the Permission to Succeed
People who were for some reason were missing the boat. When we looked at their life, we found that they were not succeeding not because they did not have the skill, ability, intelligence were .......but simply because they did not have Permission to Succeed.
The Imprint Period
The Imprint period from birth to about age 7 is the time when we are like a sponge. We pick up and store everything that goes on in our environment. The basic programming occurs between the ages of 2 to 4, by which time the bulk of the programming is complete. We also get our basic programming which includes drivers and the script at about this age. Many of the cases of child abuse and or incest that is repressed normally occur about this time frame.
During this time frame the child unconsciously picks up the parents' behaviour. Many cases of deep seated dysfunctional attitudes also tend to originate from this time frame. The very notion of imprinting comes from Konrad Lorenz who studied the behaviour of ducklings when they hatched. He discovered that baby ducks would imprint a mother figure in the first day or so of life. They did that by sorting for movement, so that if something moved just after they hatched from their eggs, they followed it and it "became" their mother. Lorenz would move and they would follow.
Lorenz found later that if he reintroduced them to their real mother later, they would ignore her and continue to follow him. In the morning when he got up, he would go outside and find the ducklings curled up around his boots instead of in their own nest.
He once reported that a ping pong ball rolled by one of the eggs when it hatched and the emerging duckling imprinted to the ping pong ball, making it the "mother". Later in life, the duck would shun others of its own species at mating time and try to mount various kinds of round things. Konrad Lorenz and his colleagues believed that imprints were established at certain neurologically critical periods and that once the critical periods had passed, whatever had been "imprinted" was permanent and not subject to change.
Timothy Leary investigated the imprint phenomenon in human beings. He maintained that the human nervous system was more sophisticated than that of ducklings and other animals. He established that under the proper conditions, content that had been imprinted at earlier critical periods could be accessed and reprogrammed or re-imprinted.
Leary also identifies several significant developmental critical periods in human beings. Imprints established during these periods established core beliefs that shaped the personality and intelligence of the individual.
The primary critical periods involved the establishment of imprints determining beliefs about biological survival, emotional attachments and well-being, intellectual dexterity, social role, aesthetic appreciation, and "meta-cognition," or the awareness of one's own thought processes.
The Imprint Period from birth to age 7, is the time when we are like a sponge. We pick up and store everything that goes on your environment. We get our basic programming between the ages of 2nd 4 and by the time a child is 4, most of the major programming has occurred. The child unconsciously picks up the parents' behaviour and internalises it as its own. This is the point at which phobias or traumas and other attitudes and beliefs that profoundly determine the subsequent future develop.
Thus health problems might stem back from one' own core beliefs and supporting behaviours established during the biological survival critical periods, while phobias have their roots in the emotional well-being period. Learning handicaps might also derive from imprints formed during the critical period involving intellectual dexterity and or ability.
The Significance of Imprints
Many times the injunctions are imprint type phenomena. When the healthy permissions are given they are positive type imprints. When the negative imprints are given, they are negative type imprints. As a result, all the good wishes and visualisation in the world would not help you deal with these issues without using some variation of the imprint technique.
If imprints only affected your behaviour, they would be relatively easy to change. Everyday, you keep practicing a new behaviour and after about 21 days, you have a new behaviour pattern that replaces your old pattern.
If imprints only affected the level of your capabilities, then going for an intense programme that improved your capability to function would help give you a new sense of ability in a particular area. This is the highest level at which most self improvement programmes work.
In this programme we wipe out your deepest most fundamental psychological blocks to success.
